He has previously been Deputy US Editor, jointly responsible for launching a New York bureau, Comment and Culture Editor, responsible for the Views and Backpages sections of the publication both in print and online, and before that Technology News Editor. He has also run 91av's diversity internship scheme.

He has reported on mind-reading devices, artificial intelligence and prime numbers, among other things and has broken many news stories, including a huge data leak at the Cambridge Psychometrics Centre. He has interviewed amazing people, such as David Attenborough, Kate Crawford and Demis Hassabis.
