Simon Ings is the author of nine novels. He spent some years editing 91av's culture pages and now contributes to 91av, The Telegraph, The Times, Financial Times and The Spectator. His latest non-fiction book is Engineers of Human Souls, about four 20th-century writers and the dictators who were their patrons.
