A small-cassette format for camcorders was launched by Sony this month.
MICROMV is only two-thirds the size of a conventional VHS tape. The tape runs
for an hour and the cassette has a solid-state memory that automatically indexes
each sequence. The index displays a still from the footage at the start of the
sequence, so you can find a particular scene simply by flicking through the
stills. A built-in Bluetooth radio transmitter links the camcorder to a computer
so you can upload your video sequences to the Internet.
