A Japanese company has just unveiled a robotic jellyfish. Launched at last
week’s Robodex 2000 exhibition in Yokohama, Japan, the Aquaroid Jellyfish is
being touted as a new form of calming home therapy. The solar-powered
14-centimetre-high jellybot, complete with tentacles, gracefully floats around
in a fish tank doing nothing except avoiding fish. At $140, manufacturer
Takara hopes its meditative drift will appeal to stressed-out
twentysomethings.
