It may seem premature to put robots in a museum, but MIT couldn’t resist
showing off the fruits of its Artificial Intelligence Lab in an exhibit that
opened in the MIT museum a few days before Halloween. Videos show a “planar
biped” dashing around in circles at record speed (over 5 metres a second), and a
one-legged “uniroo” hopping uncannily like its Australian inspiration. The
uniroo and other robots sit in cases nearby. The latest techno-artifact is the
