Waterless wash

Now you can “wash” your car even when you can’t use water, thanks to a “wet
wax” sheet developed by the Japanese company Soft99. This multilayer textile
stores a thin bed of detergents and waxes under a layer of short fibres. As the
sheet is wiped over the car, capillary action brings the detergent and wax to
the surface. The cloth’s microscopic pile traps dirt particles, so that they
don’t scratch the paintwork. One wet wax sheet will clean a whole car, says the
maker.

Archaeopteryx. Artwork of the prehistoric feathered reptile Archaeopteryx which lived around 150 million years ago. Discovered in 1861 in southern Germany, it was the first feathered fossil specimen ever found. Despite possessing bird-like feathers, wings and a wishbone, Archaeopteryx also had sharp teeth, finger digits and a bony tail similar to non-bird predatory dinosaurs.
