Hackers have caused Panasonic to delay its launch of DVD-Audio—the
follow-up to CDs—until the summer. Lawyers are scrambling to shut down
websites that explain how to defeat Panasonic’s Content Scrambling System (CSS),
which is designed to stop people making multiple copies of DVD-Audio discs and
DVD movies. But new postings pop up daily. Panasonic is working on boosting DVD
security.
