A pair of scissors with handles that can be moulded to fit your fingers has
been developed in Japan. Made of polyurethane resin, the handles soften when
placed in water heated to 80 °C. You take them out of the water, shape the
handles and plunge them into cold water. The resin hardens and keeps its new
shape. Ukai Riki, the Japanese company that makes the scissors, says they are
more comfortable to use, especially for people who have difficulty moving their
fingers.
