After you

By Barry Fox

“Courtesy is a part of good motoring,” says Alexandra Ohene of north London,
somewhat optimistically (GB 2 315 354). But it’s often difficult for other
drivers to see a wave acknowledging their kindness, so people often flash their
lights instead, which can distract others on the road. The answer, says Ohene,
is the “autoflash”, a small screen controlled by a switch on the steering column
that displays a message in the rear window, such as “Thank you”. Some motorists
may want to display rather different messages.
