Dental researchers in London claim to have pioneered the use of bone
regeneration in dentistry. Richard Palmer of the dental school at Guy’s
Hospital successfully treated four out of six patients whose false teeth
were becoming loose. With the help of a special membrane material called
Gore-Tex, Palmer stimulated regrowth of the bone into which the false teeth
were screwed.
