Another California condor has fallen foul of man-made hazards, leaving just
five condors in the wild. One-year-old Hutash died from trauma, probably
after crashing into a power line. Last October, a condor died from drinking
antifreeze, and in May another was electrocuted on a power line. The
California Condor Recovery Program is attempting to lure the birds into
safer areas using condor-shaped kites.
