Britain鈥檚 Rover Group thinks patents are the best thing since sliced bread.
In a newly published application (GB 2 341 368) the firm appears to be applying
the old idea behind roll-top desks and bread bins. To cover a stowage hatch in
an open-topped sports car, Rover suggests a roller shutter that can be deployed
across the rear of the car, presenting 鈥渁 consistent console surface with the
vehicle surface thereabouts鈥�. The shutter, says Rover, can be 鈥渞igid or
蹿濒别虫颈产濒别鈥�.
