Britain’s Rover Group thinks patents are the best thing since sliced bread.
In a newly published application (GB 2 341 368) the firm appears to be applying
the old idea behind roll-top desks and bread bins. To cover a stowage hatch in
an open-topped sports car, Rover suggests a roller shutter that can be deployed
across the rear of the car, presenting “a consistent console surface with the
vehicle surface thereabouts”. The shutter, says Rover, can be “rigid or
ڱ澱”.
